Sir Michael Lyons final report on the future role, function and funding of local government will be published shortly, around the time of the Budget.
This major national conference led by the Lyons Inquiry will offer delegates the opportunity to hear final recommendations direct from Sir Michael.
The conference offers the first opportunity to discuss details of the report with Sir Michael, which will be of strategic importance to senior managers from central, regional and local government, as well as those across local public service delivery, including private and third sector partners.
The conference will also provide attendees with the opportunity to debate the impact of the report with senior figures in the field and consider the opportunities that lie ahead for ‘place-shaping’ at a local level.
Delegates will have an opportunity to consider in detail key themes of: economic prosperity and infrastructure; place-shaping and local choice; a single system of governance and related funding and finance issues.
